About the software:      

Contours is an "easy to use" software for the creation of Digital Terrain Models (DTM) inside the MapPit environment. Contours  produces contour lines, and cross sections in the most wide spread formats in Israel. 

Contours uses powerful and robust algorithms in the DTM creation.  These are the same algorithms that have become the State of the art algorithms in Israel.  This way the validity and acceptance of the calculations are assured. This fact is specially important for projects in which the government and municipal authorities are involved. 

Contours supports the data exchange formats which are the most common among the engineering and design firms in Israel.  This makes communication between the user and the other parties in any project, quick and fluent. 

 Contours is very easy to operate and to learn.  It uses MapPit  initialization files to set in advance the layers that will be involved in the production of the DTM, so most of the work is being done almost automatically.
